The company has been established in 1969 in Porto Torres with the purpose to work, as deducible by his name, mainly in the fields of metal carpentry and machine tools processing: since the beginning the company policy was to acquire both advanced technology equipment and know-how, thus succeeding in the immediate acquisition of demanding orders. The main client of the period, due to the proximity of the implants, was the chemical pole of S.I.R. in Porto Torres. Since then, with the acquisition of orders by both public boards and private companies, the company has made a swift approach to the more extensive field of plant engineering. This dynamism with regard to typologies of activities has highlighted, as years go by, the feature that has ever been constant in the company: the spontaneous tendency to insert itself in new jobs of “adjacent” nature to the ones already performed and, above all, the capability of assure perspective of development in the context of the regional market in Sardinia for lack of quantity and/or quality. Since said expansion has been attained up to now without ever dropping the acquired activities and technologies, both know-how, equipments and staff have known a constant increase through the years.

Future perspectives Since the moment of establishment the main prerogative of “Officina Turritana s.r.l.” has been versatility: this characteristic, which in the past has permitted the company to introduce and develop itself in the Sardinian market, will be surely cultivate in the future as well and will characterize the company strategic choices. Nonetheless, the company has a clearly defined profile at the moment: as a matter of fact the operative structure is a direct consequence to the adaptation to the specialized intervention executed over the last few years, the needs of public boards mainly, though not exclusively, had pressed for services which could be only granted by a specialized and dedicated structure, unlikely to be found among the technical sectors of said boards. PFor that reason, even if the company is still engaged supplying “off the shelf” water purification plants , sewerage treatment plants and water pumping and raising plants, it is now more and more oriented towards specialized tasks such management, maintenance both ordinary and extraordinary of said implants and relative electro mechanical devices. In fact, that company is in charge of the management and maintenance both ordinary and extraordinary regarding the plants detailed below: Purification plant “Sirimbizzi” serving the city of Cagliari, having the capacity of 1.400 l/s of drinking water (the biggest plant in Sardinia and one of the biggest in Italy), on behalf of “Ente Autonomo del Flumendosa” (Indipendent Flumendosa Board); Purification plant of Alghero, on behalf of E.S.A.F. ENTE SARDO ACQUEDOTTI E FOGNATURE (Sardinia aqueducts and sewerage systems Board); Purification plant San Michele, Cagliari, on behalf of Municipal district of Cagliari; Purification plant “Is Barrocus” Isili (NU), on behalf of E.S.A.F. ENTE SARDO ACQUEDOTTI E FOGNATURE (Sardinia aqueducts and sewerage systems Board) Sewage treatment plant of Olbia (having the capacity of 30.000 equivalent inhabitants), on behalf of Municipal district of Olbia and subsequently E.S.A.F. ENTE SARDO ACQUEDOTTI E FOGNATURE (Sardinia aqueducts and sewerage systems Board); Sewage treatment plant of the Turistic Centre Roccaruja in Stintino (SS) on behalf of S.N.A.M. s.p.a.; The company has a vast experience and is now proposing itself as a partner for the creation of public/private companies to manage the whole amount of activities concerning water resources, a demand that appears to be more and more frequent nowadays. It is necessary, also, to underline that the company has implemented in his organization the Quality System UNI EN ISO 9002, whit the object to reach new quality standard both in the company management and in the final product: the company targets are always the increasing clients satisfaction, efficacy and efficiency.

Structure The company facilities are extended over a area of 2700 m2, plus a large square of almost 6000 m2. The management is in charge of Mr. Sergio Dore, Chief Executive; the same Mr. Sergio Dore share the office of technical manager with geom. Pietro Galaffu. At present the company has 80 employees.     The company organization is: Plant personnel: Management offices Project and technical offices Carpentry Mechanical shop and tooling Electro mechanical shop Personnel dedicated to the management and maintenance of external plants; Intervention squads, in order to perform quick repairing in normal and emergency situations as well.                 Certification The company has been certified with reference to quality requirement ISO 9001/2000 by the certificating Board B.V.Q.I. Italia s.r.l. in March 2001.
